SYNGE's FIRST6
The morning after of Synge had gone into labor, we woke up to “Mew, Mew, Mew” .The meows were coming from the closet. I got up to go see the kittens. I had set up a box for Synge to have the kittens in, with a small door cut out from the top so she didn’t have to jump too high. Just like a good mama she was in there cleaning the kittens, but she looked horrible (all Kinney and wet- like). Thankfully she was smart and stayed inside of the box. “What was I thinking letting her have them in my closet?” I counted the kittens, told her she was going to have a bath, and then left to get a bowl of water and food for her. When I returned, I decided to switch out the towels. “Carefully without touching the kittens”, and that is when I noticed one of the kittens lying on something. “It was my husband’s CC (a platinum card). It was inside the box. “I guess when he was changing the night before he dropped it.” So we ended up naming this kitten platinum. He was one of the chunky babies, and his coat was always such a shiny white. It was very clean. The name just stuck and the owners that were lucky to have him kept the name we gave him. Platinum was also the first of the Synge’s 6 kittens to find a good home.
